Prison Guards at Canada’s first privatized adult prison rejected their
first and second contract offer. They also voted in favour of going on
strike.
The prison guards unionized in Sept 2002, after ongoing complaints about
working conditions.
The Central North Correctional Centre (CNCC) opened 2 years ago and is
Canada first privately run prison. The 1500 bed superjail is located
in Penatanguishine
Ontario, is run by Utah-based Management and Training Corporation.
